Mr. Douglas G. Rupe
Adjunct InstructorMost recently, as Senior
Vice-President of Development Services for Value Place Hotels, Doug Rupe was responsible for the team management
of real estate projects as they proceed from
execution of a purchase agreement and on to release of the project to construction.
This included site development activities such as contract negotiation, completion
of due diligence investigation, engagement and management of consultant
services, coordination of design and engineering teams, managing the flow of
decision making information, working with title companies, and finalizing
document preparation in advance of land and loan closings. Over a period of four
years, under Doug’s leadership, his team developed 110 Value Place
hotel properties in 42 states. He presently
serves on the management team of Consolidated Holdings, Inc., a Jack DeBoer
company, and is engaged in various real estate initiatives.
Doug has broad experience
in commercial real estate development. He has held positions in the areas of feasibility and market planning, real estate
acquisition, and property development. He has worked for Residence Inn
Hotels, Summerfield Hotel Corporation, Pizza Hut, Inc., Alterra, and Hutton
Construction Corporation. He has completed extensive contract and lease
negotiations, directed property management, and performed development
activities for numerous real estate projects.
